About Joe Warren Crowder





Born Sept. 15, 1934, in Knoxville Tennessee to
Margaret A. Ogle & Claude W. Crowder,
named after Joseph Uriah Crowder and Moses Starnes Warren,
two of his grandfathers.

Joined the Army Reserves on Oct. 3, 1952,
Honorable Discharge June 10, 1957


Graduated High School June 1953,

Worked one year as shipping clerk for Levi’s. Work as artist and photolithgrapher
Until June 1957

Married Joann May Graves Dec. 31, 1954.

Studied Art and photography on the side.

Went on Active duty with
U.S. Army June 11, 1957 to June 10, 1959.
Honorable Discharge Oct. 2, 1960.
Photographed first wedding Aug. 1959.
Worked as engraver for 20 years
at Knoxville News-Sentinel
and ran a full time Photographic Studio also.



Founded and Served as President of
Smoky Mountain Professional Photographers.

Served as President of
Tennessee Professional Photographers Association.

Served as President of
Southeastern Professional Photographers Association.



Recieved all of the highest awards
presented by these Associations.
